Who we are

Example Build Co. (“we”, “us”) is a building renovation company operating in London and the surrounding areas. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect, and when

We only collect information you actively choose to send us. This website has no tracking pixels and no advertising tags, and we don't build a profile of you or follow you around the internet.

We do measure how many people visit the site, using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It records the page visited, the site that referred you, and general details like country, browser and device type. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and cannot identify you personally.

• Contact form — your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in the message box.
• Instant estimate form — your name, email address, phone number, property postcode (optional), any notes you add, and a summary of the estimate you built with the tool.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, any special category information (such as health or financial details) through these forms.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry, arrange a site visit where appropriate, and prepare a quote.

Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. We do not send marketing emails and we never sell or share your details with third parties for their own marketing.

Who else handles your information

• Formspree processes our website form submissions and forwards them to our email inbox. Formspree is based in the United States, so your submission is transferred outside the UK. See the Formspree privacy policy.
• Our email provider and web host store the resulting messages and serve this website.
• Google Fonts serves the typeface used on this site. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. See the Google privacy policy.
• Cloudflare CDN serves the PDF-generation library used by the estimate page, so your browser also contacts that service when you open it.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits, as described above. It is cookieless and does not identify you.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to respond and, where the enquiry becomes a job, for as long as we need it for the contract and for our legal and tax obligations afterwards. Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted once they're no longer of use to either of us. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.

The site uses your browser's local storage in one narrow case: the site owner's private editing pages store a preview of draft prices, reviews and projects on their own device. Nothing is stored on your device as an ordinary visitor, and nothing is sent to us.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate;
• ask us to delete your information;
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
• ask us to transfer it to you or another provider in a portable format.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
